A chance online siting prompted a spur of the moment visit to Saugerties last night. The reason? The 4th annual Village Invasion Crawl of the Dead. A night when the main thoroughfares of the village are closed to traffic and turned over to hordes of zombies and the men, women and children who love them. The evening did not disappoint, with hundreds of the undead mingling with thousands of living revelers. For those wishing to "cross over" temporarily, helpful make-up artists were on hand to aid the transformation. Despite the fact that many had to resort eating on the street we were able to snag a table at Miss Lucy’s Kitchen, where we had a great meal amongst the living, half-dead and undead. It was a festive night out in one of the liveliest towns in the Hudson Valley – I will definitely mark my calendar for next year!
